Review:
"Adoration" was originally written for organ. Chuck has created a beautiful arrangement for handbells featuring singing bell, suspended bell, nicely-placed LVs, and, of course, Ring. It features an enchanting melody and includes phrase markings to draw attention to the melodic phrases. It is written in A-B-A form, beginning in C major, with the 'B' section in F major before returning to a bit more expanded 'A' section.
This will be a lovely work for worship or a meditative moment in any concert. Regarding her gifts and passion for music, Florence Price said of herself: "I have two handicaps: those of sex and race." She earned her Bachelor's Degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in 1906, and went on to write violin concertos, piano sonatas, works for symphony orchestra, organ, and more… enjoying many successes throughout her life.
