Review:
The beautiful hymn, “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman,” written in 1975 by Carey Landry, is well represented in this lovely, flowing arrangement for solo instrument and piano accompaniment by Kurt Meyer. This rendition captures perfectly the message of the hymn: “Gentle woman, quiet light, morning star, so strong and bright, gentle Mother, peaceful dove, teach us wisdom; teach us love.” Solo instruments include handbells (3 oct.), C treble clef woodwinds, violin, clarinet, or cello/bassoon. Level 2.
