Drop Down Dew
Two octave of handbells plus A6 add ethereal accompaniment to this setting of Ken Macek's original work. The words are based on Isaiah 45:8 and the "O" Antiphons. The bells open the piece with a chord that sustains as a chanter chants in latin. The ringers respond in the free fashion of chant notation. The choral text begins: "O Wisdom, love divine, O holy Word of God, you govern all creation with your care." The refrain replies: "Drop down dew, you heavens from above, and let the clouds rain down the Just One."
