Dies Irae
A stunning arrangement combining the "Dies Irae" and "Stabat Mater" chants, layered with the melancholy Hassler/Bach PASSION CHORALE ("O Sacred Head, Now Wounded"). Singing bell technique adds intensity to this stunning selection. The "Dies Irae" tune may be familiar as the famous theme from Berlioz' Symphonie Fantastique. This piece is suggested for Maundy Thursday/Good Friday, or any time during Lent/Holy Week. Oboe (or other C instrument) and optional cello add sophistication to concerts and festivals.
