Grand Jubilation
Here is a new original piece, perfect for worship or concert, featuring a lyrical and lovely melody. Kurt has included something for everyone. At the beginning of the piece, singing bells underlie the suspended bells as they establish the melody, and the controlled diminuendo technique on the suspended note chord is a nice transition into the main theme. Tambourine and clarinet soon join in, while a variety of techniques including mart, mart-lift, Sk, and LV are so nicely placed this piece will almost play itself! The combined tones and textures of all these instruments are quite pleasant and interesting. The main theme segues into an amazing surprise section followed by handchimes ringing the melody with wind chimes added for an ethereal effect. There are opportunities for amazing musical interpretation throughout and the addition of timpani leads to an unexpected ending. This is definitely a 'must-have' for your Level 3 – and beyond – group.
