Saturday Night Barn Dance
A large work for full orchestra and four octaves of bells, Alfred Kunz gives his impressions of the "Boys Night Out." Throughout he quotes from the folk tunes "Devil's Dream" and "Rakes of Mallon" along with musical comments on the action such as "the fight" and "spinster Kitty Boyle Dances." The handbell choir is scored to play the entirety of the work and good use is made of all the bells. A good challenge for a major concert.
