I Have Come
"I have come that you may have life, that you may have life abundantly." This text opens the anthem with additional lyrics based on John 3:16, 10:10, and 14:6-7. The accompaniment may be played as a piano duet, or with piano and handbells. A full set of 2-4 octaves of bells are needed to ring the accompaniment, which consists mostly of dotted quarter note chords in 6/8 meter. The melody is lilting in nature and is treated imitatively in the second section. A separate bell score is included in the anthem folio. Measures total 68.
