Darkest Hour
Arnold Sherman sets the mood for the Lenten season with his adaptation of this Joel Raney composition which incorporates strains from “O Sacred Head, Now Wounded,” “Were You There” and “Beneath the Cross of Jesus.” The hymn tunes are beautifully woven together with an original, stirring melody for 3-6 octaves of handbells. This work is set in the keys of c minor, C Major, eb minor, and Eb Major, and is 94 measures.
