I Will Arise and Go to Jesus
Commissioned by the Nebraska State Handbell Musicians of America Handbell Committee in memory of Mary Kettelhut, one of the pioneers of American handbell ringing, the Southern Harmony tune, RESTORATION is arranged for a double choir of 2-3 and 3, 4 or 5 octaves, with percussion, but may also be played by a single choir. Light thumb-damping, malleting or plucking accompany the melody, which is presented in two slightly different versions. This short arrangement includes no accidentals except for the final chord, and is appropriate year-round for worship or concert use. It is 54 measures in length and is scored in a minor.
