Rainbows
Introducing “The Brokering Project” – a versatile series of Handbell Solos and Children’s Anthems that celebrate the inspired creations of Herb and Lois Brokering - commissioned by their long-time friend Karen Van Wert. “Rainbows” showcases Lois Brokering’s light-hearted faith with a simple text, a catchy tune and some unexpected harmonies. Many performances options are included: 1) Handbell Solo and piano; 2) Children’s Anthem and Piano with opt. C instrument – (Add a Ukulele! – to capture the whimsical nature of the piece); 3) Include the congregation in the fun with the Bulletin insert or text slides; 4) Add a very easy L1 1-3 oct. Handbell/Handchime score to the mix; 5) Mix and Match any or all of the possibilities! Rehearsal marks using boxed numbers help keep all the participants synchronized – and an optional “whole section” repeat” allows for a longer presentation as well as a chance to include the audience once they become familiar with the piece. The entire folio is reproducible by the original purchaser to pass out song sheets, copy handbell parts, create Power Point slides, etc. Add visual aids and posters to enliven the show: colored flowers and rainbows on poster board held up at particular sections, move and reset singers and props during the short transitions, share the spotlight with HB Soloist by taking turns with the melody – feel free to adapt this cheery score to best serve your needs.
