Ring We Joyfully
Cathy Moklebust uses changing meters and an energetic tempo to create excitement in this piece. Following a brief introduction, the theme rhythmically illustrates the title in a lilting 7/8 meter accompanied by a playful, malleted eighth-note bass line. Handchimes take over in the middle section for a nice contrast, before a return to handbells brings back the original joyful melody, rhythms, and techniques of the beginning, leading to a flourish of martellatos to end. This piece will be a challenging yet entertaining addition to your repertoire. 115 measures, beginning in G Major, modulating to Bb Major for the middle section, then returning to G Major for the end.
