Skye Boat Song
Take your listeners on a journey through time with this arrangement of "The Skye Boat Song". Used as the theme song for the popular TV show Outlander, this 19th-century Scottish folk song tells the story of a young lad (or lass, depending on the person singing!) on a journey far from home. The additional parts (tenor and alto vocal duet or viola and cello duet) are not optional, however, additional strings may be substituted for the voice parts. To use the piece in a worship setting, substitute the words of the hymn "Spirit of God, Unseen as the Wind".
