Huron Carol
The Huron Carol is Canada's oldest Christmas song, written by a Jesuit missionary, Jean de Brebeuf, in the 1640s. The inspiration for it grew out of the relationship between the missionaries and the indigenous Wendat people. The melody is based on a French folk song and is hauntingly lovely.
Dean has crafted a gorgeous arrangement of this tune incorporating singing bells, handchimes, LV, mart-lifts, and more. Beginning with a beautiful introduction, it develops into a legato LV bass line with hand chime melody giving way to melody in the bells. There are so many very special touches that create an awesome piece for worship or concert! This is definitely a 'must-have' for your Christmas repertoire!
Percussion part is written into the handbell score.
