This original Celtic jig of Medium difficulty can be played by 2-11 ringers using bells and opt. chimes. The jaunty melody (A5-C7) can played by Belltree solo, a 4iH duo or 3-6 ringers, and the supporting counter-melody (D4-A5) on bells or chimes can be played by 1-5 ringers. Note: The two parts share the A5 - so if a belltree is used, either: 1) one part needs to play all the A5s, 2) a duplicate A5 is needed, or 3) the second part must be played on chimes or another bell set. To play the second part as a ringing solo, chimes are recommended. Either or both voices can be also played on C instruments! Of course, the more ringers that play, the easier the piece becomes! Great as an airy prelude or as a concert palate cleanser demonstrating solo chime and 4iH skills. Individual parts and the full ensemble score are included, plus the original harp score in G mixolydian. Reproducible Mixolydian mode in D. 44 measures plus repeats and a DS al Fine. Performance time 1:40. The recording is by Mosaic Handbell Ensemble ringers Joanne & Aimee (4iH duo) and Kath (chimes) performing for JMU’s Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) “Wine & Wisdom” program Sept. 2023.
