"Venita MacGorman is the Associate Director of Music at McFarlin UMC in Norman, OK, where she directs three handbell choirs and three vocal choirs and supervises the handbell and children's music ministries. She holds the degrees of Bachelor of Music Education from
Texas Christian University and Master of Music
Education from the University of Oklahoma. Venita is
a past chair of Area IX of the AGEHR and of the
Central Oklahoma Chapter of Choristers Guild. She has
served as conductor for a number of Area IX Young
Ringers Festivals. She is a former column coordinator
for "Overtones" magazine and has been a frequent
contributor to that publication. She is the author of
the AGEHR resource "The Director as Teacher: Working
with the Beginning Handbell Choir" and, with her
daughter Erin, of the method book "Basic Training for
Bells", published by Choristers Guild."
