Biographical information for Tim Shepard

As Director of Music and Organist, Tim oversees the music program of the church. This includes the adult, youth and children's choirs. He directs the Chancel Choir in the Sunday morning services usually from his position at the organ. He also accompanies special music programs both on the organ and piano.

Tim received his Bachelor's Degree in Church Music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ and his Master's Degree in Sacred Music from Emory University, Atlanta, GA.  

Tim has served churches in Camden SC, Charleston SC, and most recently in Atlanta GA.  He is a composer and arranger of choral, handbell, keyboard and congregational music which has been performed and recorded throughout the US and in numerous other countries.  Tim was a presenter / keynote speaker where he advocated the idea of "church musicians as teachers" at the SC Episcopal Church Musicians Conference at Seabrook Island, SC.  He conducted the SC premier of Gian Carlo Menotti's Children's Opera, "The Boy Who Grew Too Fast", a production in which Menotti himself directed and founded a regional boy choir in Charleston.  

Tim also has a keen interest in computer technologies and the Internet.  He is the founder of AzaleaCircle.com, an Internet publishing company of sacred music.
