Brian Childers, an accomplished pianist, trumpeter, and composer, has served as Minister of Music at First Baptist Church (FBC) of Mount Holly since 2001. Rev. Childers, an ordained Baptist minister, earned the Master of Divinity degree from the Gardner Web School of divinity and an undergraduate degree in piano performance from Appalachian State University. With over 50 works published, Childers’ choral and instrumental compositions have been performed throughout the United States and abroad. Under his leadership, the Music Ministry of FBC has grown to include graded vocal choirs from Preschool through Senior Adults, multiple handbell choirs for all ages, and a seasonal orchestra. The Music Ministry of FBC is actively involved in sacred and community efforts from worship leadership to Habitat for Humanity events, from local Community Relief fundraisers to mission trips throughout the United States. Mr. Childers is a frequent clinician and enjoys working with churches and community groups on special commissioned works.
