Barb Werner currently resides in Colorado with her husband and 3 boys, ages 9, 13, and 14. She was born and raised in New Jersey, and has lived in numerous locations across the United States as an Air Force wife. Barbara graduated from Allegheny College (PA) in 1991 with a B.S. in Mathematics and Music, and spent the next 10 years as a software engineer for Northrop Grumman before becoming a mother. In 2005, she attended one of the first AGEHR Composer Master Classes led by Arnold Sherman. Barbara has many years of experience ringing handbells, starting in high school and most recently as a member of Sonoran Bells, a community handbell ensemble in Tucson, AZ.
Barbara has composed numerous pieces for piano and has had several handbells works published by From the Top, GIA, Jeffers, and Chorister’s Guild, as well as one commissioned piece. In her spare time, Barbara enjoys scrapbooking, handbell ringing, rock climbing, and packing/unpacking their family as the Air Force forces them from place to place.
