Review:
Cynthia Dobrinski's creativity is once again on display in this unique and elegant arrangement of "Finlandia" as she paints the text of all three verses of this timeless hymn. Verse one starts quietly with rich harmonies. The second verse uses rhythmic and harmonic alteration, a short sprinkling of quiet staccato techniques, and two well-placed echoes reflecting the intent of the text. After a transition, the piece culminates in an exciting, symphonic third verse. Six and seven octave choirs will be pleased by the frequent use of their low bass and upper octave bells. Arranged in F Major, this piece is 95 measures.
