Review:
Fun for the ringers to perform and engaging for audiences to hear, Martha Lynn Thompson's setting of this jazzy Leroy Anderson composition makes an excellent concert encore. With the exception of an occasional rung note, all notes are staccato, imitating the plucked strings of the original orchestral setting. Although bells could be plucked or thumb damped, malleting them on the table makes it easy to handle the chromatics found throughout the piece. Set in G Major throughout, this score is 58 measures.
