Audiences appreciate this classical piece, even more so when the familiar melody is played on a series of bell trees. Transposed into the key of C, the piece can be played quickly on bell trees from G4 to C6 or G7, with only one accidental! With accompaniment by a keyboard setup of strings and harpsichord or by piano, the listener is transported to earlier times of salon concerts. The 69-measure solo is suitable for sacred or secular settings and for all seasons of the church year.
