Still Still Still

Review:      "Still, Still, Still" is a three octave arrangement of the famous lullaby from the great Austrian tradition. This setting begins in Ab Major and is fairly straight forward, melodically. Basic ringing techniques are used in the bass bells, and it modulates into Eb Major. Technically, the piece is quite simple and legato, except for 16th note arpeggios used to modulate and to ornament the melody. Bass spirals (gyros) are used on whole notes in the second section, and they can be done in any manner the director desires. The basic idea is to keep the tone vibrant during the whole note chords. Rotating the bells either outward or upward is suggested, keeping the chord from dying out. This 38-measure arrangement is a level 2+ or 3.
