Review:
Here is a mesmerizing, much-loved English folk melody, KINGSFOLD, set to a Scottish poem which speaks of the words of Jesus. Each verse of the hymn is structured around words from the gospels (Matt. 11:28; John 4:14, 1:4-9), all centered on the invitation of Jesus to come and follow. The simple accompaniment makes this an ideal choice as a choral response to one of these gospel readings. Hauntingly beautiful, this 62-measure octavo is set in e minor.
