Review:
Published in two compatible editions, this tender setting of the beloved Appalachian folk song may be rung by either handbells or handchimes. With minimal bell changes and easy bell techniques such as shake and echo, the 80-measure piece provides an excellent opportunity for expressive, sensitive ringing. Especially effective during Lent and Holy Week or any time of quiet meditation, this rendition is scored in c minor.
