Review:
This programmatic original composition opens with repeated patterns, swinging and LVs, emulating the sounds of church tower bells ringing out to gather the people. A lively celebration then ensues with a jaunty folk dance, featuring multiple bell techniques including ring touch, plucking, malleting, thumb damping, martellato and shaking. The tower bells interrupt the merriment, announcing the late hour with slowly swinging chords and the familiar patterns of the opening. 107 measures in length, "Carillon Festiva" will be a delightful addition to any concert or festival program. It is scored in d minor and e minor.
