Review:
Commissioned by the Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble in memory of a founding member of the group, this piece uses the singing bell technique extensively to convey the text of the spiritual "Give Me Jesus". Chimes are used in the middle section in a very effective way. It is a thought-provoking piece about death and resurrection suitable for the Lent and Easter seasons or concert use. 101 measures, it is arranged in Eb Major, g minor, and C Major.
