Full of variety and compositional color, this superb setting of a much-loved hymn tune makes full use of the natural sounds of the instrument along with the tasteful addition of shakes, vibrato, and stopped techniques. The first section is grand, the second quieter and more peaceful, and the last section is fast and joyful, with driving malleted rhythms. This enduring arrangement is 70 measures and is scored in C Major and F Major.
