Review:
All the passion and pizazz of the Hungarian Gypsy folk tune, "Jarba, Mare Jarba", is contained in this fun-to-ring arrangement--a perfect concert opener or encore! A slower, smoother section segues into a more spirited section. The dance-like mood of the score is achieved by grace notes and an oom-pah sound created by mallets and thumb damps, as well as a jovial tempo (quarter = 108). "Gypsy Song" is 82 measures and is set in c minor.
