What Child Is This

Review:

Barbara Brocker, both bell tree artist and arranger, has taken Joel Raney’s original setting of Greensleeves and set it for 4 octave bell tree solo and keyboard.  The 6 bell trees used may all hang from the same cross-bar stand.

This 157-measure work requires intermediate skill. Though the tempo is gentle with easy rhythmic patterns, the challenge comes in varying tempos and technical concerns. Instructions are written right into the music as well as in the performance notes. The music and the visual artistry make this a main course concert piece.

Downloadable rehearsal tracks are available.  Keys of a minor, f minor, and d minor.
