Review:
Based on a Swedish folk tune, this opens with the straight-forward feel of a hymn, breaking into an energetic 7/8 meter, giving it an exciting flow throughout. Addition of suspended bells and marts add interest. The bass line is mostly malleted, providing an opportunity for bass ringers to fine-tune their technique and pay careful attention to dynamics while supporting the rest of the tune – and ringers. An alternate title could be used for community and school concerts. This will be an audience-pleaser! Begins in C Major, then modulates to D Major and finally to G Major. 105 measures.
