A few bell changes for some ringers classify "Pastorale" as a Level 1+ composition in rondo form. The melodic themes in the rondo are marked to help ringers understand the thematic pattern of a rondo. The A-theme has nice echoes between the upper and middle bells, providing interest for the ringers in both octaves. As an aid to ringers and directors, the melody and other notes of equal importance are easy to identify because they are printed in red. Although "Pastorale" is suitable for bells or chimes, chimes enhance the peaceful feeling of a pastoral scene. 83 measures. Key of C Major.
