Review:
Brenda Austin gives us a hauntingly beautiful arrangement of "Coventry Carol". After a lovely, lyrical presentation of the melody, the mood dramatically changes. The malleted middle section is reminiscent of Herod’s horses charging, effectively portraying the lyrics, “Herod the king, in his raging …” The piece concludes with a return to the lyrical treatment of the melody. Ringers and listeners will be captivated by this poignant arrangement. 84 measures. Key of f minor.
