Review:
Lauran Delancy sets the Lenten staple “O Sacred Head, Now Wounded” for 3 or 5(6) octave handbells, with optional 3 or 5 octave handchimes. Packed with rich meaning, the arrangement starts out mysteriously and meditatively, continuing on with a deep heaviness, and broadens out majestically just before ending with startling symbolism. Especially useful for Ash Wednesday or Good Friday, this piece is appropriate throughout Lent. Level III. 101 measures. Key of a minor.
