Review:
The favorite “12 Days of Christmas” is arranged for handbells by the well-known arranger Arnold Sherman. It begins quite normally, but soon each day is portrayed in imaginative ways. The eight maids a-milking are sad and weeping, while the nine ladies are dancing a waltz. Ten lords a-leaping do a Russian dance, and eleven pipers piping revert briefly to the famous Ukrainian Carol. It’s a Christmas crowd pleaser for a community or advanced church handbell ensemble! 190 measures.
