Review:
Karl Jenkins is a contemporary composer who was inspired to write “Palladio” in honor of the Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio, who observed “harmonious proportions and mathematics” in his designs. This first movement reflects that design and harmony. Mallets and RT emphasize the rests, which makes this piece sparkle. It is delicate and balanced throughout, culminating in a dynamic and exciting conclusion. 82 measures. Key of d minor.
