Review:
Lee Afdhal’s original work begins with a somber feeling of tension which gives way to a mournful melody of yearning. The middle section drives the piece forward before the return of the opening theme, which now has a more hopeful feeling than before. A contrasting coda brings the piece around to a prayerful conclusion.
