This is a jazzy little setting of the well known hymn "Just a Closer Walk With Thee". The piece begins with a catchy opening which draws us into the rhythmic melody. Your bass ringers groove to their malleted bass accompaniment. The middle section provides quiet contrast with use of handchimes. Then comes a surprise key change and everyone rocking through the melody one last time before a Louis Armstrong “O Ya” ending. Ringers and audience alike will love it. Keys of G Major & Ab Major. 49 measures.
