Review:
The ancient Advent hymn "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" is flexibly arranged for 8, 10 or 12 handbells and optional keyboard, playable by 4, 5 or 6 ringers. Open bell peals in the first stanza and syncopated, pulsing eighth-notesĀ in the second stanza propel this accessible and thoughtful setting. The bells used are within the 2 octave range, and may easily be rung with music stands rather than tables. An mp3 accompaniment track is also available for purchase. 59 measures. Key of e minor.
