Review:
Three lovely, easy-to-ring Level 1 and 2 pieces (Brightest and Best of the Stars of the Morning, Let Us Break Bread Together on Our Knees and Saw Ye My Savior) are offered in two folios: RE4011A for 2 oct. and RE4011B 3 or 5 octaves. (The two editions are not compatible.) Rich harmonies in these short, interpretive settings will add depth to worship and concert during Epiphany, Lent, Passion Week, Good Friday or communion. Optional repeats make them even more flexible. All three are perfect for beginning choirs - or as quick work-ups for worship - and serve well for virtual recording projects since the sound files include 4 prep measures for use as a reference track: The first 2 measures set the tempo, ringers tap the 3rd measure for lining up the sound files, and then silently count the 4th measure to prepare to ring. No shared bells, no pages turns and no special techniques make them ideal for ringing with music stands only or for using well-spaced tables – and even for ringing from home. Basic instructions for the virtual recording process are found in each score. Audio files of each piece (with the 4 prep measures) and a video of our virtual recording project are found at handbellworld.com. These scores are available as hard copies - or as a Digital Site License which allows you to make copies as needed.
