Review:
After the birth of his niece, the composer wrote a lullaby for her parents to sing to her. The tune grew on the composer and he played it for himself in between classes at the school where he taught elementary school music. This setting makes the lullaby accessible for handbell choirs. Written to be played in a slow 3 or subdivided into 6 beats per measure. The key change is seamless as it moves from C minor to Eb major and returns to C minor in a traditional ABA form.
Lyrics
Chorus: Close your eyes, my little one and dream sweet dreams, Close your eyes and dream of lollipops, Close your eyes, my little one and sleep.
Verse: Dream, Dream of the green, green hills, Of Tulips, come to bloom. Dream of Teddy, and lollipops, of Momma and Papa, too. (Repeat chorus)
