This handbell homage to the one and only Aretha Franklin was commissioned by Classical Bells of Detroit to honor her life and incomparable career. Written by Burt Bacharach (music) and Hal David (lyrics), and originally recorded by Dionne Warwick in 1966, this syncopated and upbeat rendition of the popular tune was given a twist by Aretha in October 1968 when "I Say a Little Prayer" reached number ten on the Hot 100 and number three on the R&B singles chart.
