Review:
This waltz takes the listener on an auditory journey from the mountains of Wyoming, through Montana, south into Idaho where there are a series of dams. The river then turns west and north through Idaho where it is pumped dry for irrigation. The river reforms and is joined by other white water rivers, the Salmon and Clearwater rivers, there to be dammed multiple times as it turns west into Washington. Finally, the Snake joins the mighty Columbia River.
Various sections sound out the violence and majesty of white water. Others show the placidity of reservoir lakes.
