Review:
Stunning and ethereal, this original masterwork explores the vastness of the universe in 3 distinct sections, informally titled “Let There Be Light,” “Space Cowboys” and “The Great Expanse.” A welcome addition for advanced Bronze level repertoire as each section offers a different challenge in technique, chromatic work and interpretive skills. The longer performance time enhances a concert, giving the audience ample time to immerse themselves in this mermerizing world of swirling space. Originally published by GIA, this reissue features a few minor tweaks (but is still compatible with the original score), and it also includes the option to play the composer’s original uncut version of the chime section (“The Great Expanse”) which adds another 30-45 second to the performance. Commissioned in honor Beth Ann Edwards, the opening theme features her initials: B-A-E. Based on Hebrews 1:2 and subtitled“Rhapsody in Am,” “All Time and Space” is a majestic addition to any performance. Part of the True Music series from ringTrue, featuring well-crafted music for concert, festival and worship. 120 or 136 measures. 6:00-6:45 minutes performance time.
