Review:
Here is a delightful new and fresh setting of this traditional tune – as American as apple pie and ice cream – and it transcends all ages and generations. Linda has set it to a storyline beginning with a jaunty and optimistic feel reflecting the Colonies first declaring their independence from King George III's England.
Melody is rung in the bells and then featured in the handchimes while a counter-melody with a jaunty feel is TD in the treble. Echoes are called for as the mood turns dismal and cold with the tune played in A-minor as winter sets in at Valley Forge – but determination carries the troops through to the turning point: the Battle of Saratoga! New energy infuses them and drives them forward to victory at Yorktown! Even though rated Level 3, this will be a perfect piece to transition your solid Level 2 group to that next skill level - and a fabulous title for everyone to ring in all the patriotic events throughout the year!
