Review:
FAITHFULNESS is a much-loved hymn tune that was created by William Runyan to fit with a poem written by his young Methodist minister friend, Thomas Chisholm. Chisholm had health issues throughout his life and was challenged in many ways, but he wrote: "God has given me many wonderful displays of his providing care, which have filled me with astonishing gratefulness."
Brian created this unique lyrical setting in honor of his father, and the love and appreciation he feels for his dad is apparent in the music. It features LV passages in the accompaniment which are gently rhythmic and the melody is Rung throughout. Treble echoes, light bass mallets, and marts add interest to the score. It is very expressive and the dynamics are so perfectly placed, that this hymn setting almost sings itself. This is such a lovely piece that is sure to be loved and appreciated by audiences and ringers alike.
