Review:
Three favorite hymn tunes containing a 'walk' theme have been combined into a wonderful arrangement by Pat Hurlbutt. It begins with "Jesus Walked This Lonely Valley". Carefully placed dynamics, LVs, and the addition of a countermelody rung on chimes make this setting mesmerizing. It flows nicely into an upbeat version of "I Want Jesus To Walk With Me", utilizing a nice mix of stopped techniques while the clear melody soars. A wonderful segue moves this arrangement into a 'serene' and simple "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" which soon becomes a glorious, fully-rung setting. Another brilliant segue gradually moves to a more calm and expressive ending. This is a fantastic and beautifully written medley that will inspire ringers and audiences alike. It is sure to become a 'must-have' work for your Level 3 and beyond ringers.
