Review:
Pele ("She who shapes the sacred land"), is the Hawaiian goddess of fire and volcanoes. Small towns and entire forests have been wiped out by Pele's passionate, unpredictable, and volatile temper. This original composition attempts to recreate the June 7, 2023 eruption of the volcano, Kīlauea, which created a spectacle that intertwined both beauty and fear.
If the traditional ipu heke island drum isn't available use any percussion instrument capable of producing two distinct sounds. A separate drum part is available. This polychordal original work is also available in a compatible 5-octave version, making this a wonderful piece for festivals.
