Review:
This beloved prayer is attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi in the 13th century, but the earliest record of it dates to 1912 where it appeared in a French publication,
La Clochette. It was made popular for vocal and guitar in the 1960s by Sebastian Temple.
Kurt has crafted a lovely setting of this for handbell solo with piano accompaniment and optional oboe or other C-instrument. The interplay between the oboe and bell solo is magical and the flowing piano accompaniment is beautiful. Kurt's settings are always so lyrical and expressive, and speak directly to the soul. This will be a lovely addition to all handbell soloists' repertoires.
