Review:
This delightful carol is reported to have originated in Spain in 1612 and has since become one of the most popular carols throughout Spanish-speaking countries and beyond. Leroy Anderson arranged and included it in his 1955 collection Suite of Carols for String Orchestra.
Martha Lynn has a wonderful gift for creating handbell settings faithful to the original and her attention to detail in this Anderson version is no exception. Judicial use of a variety of stopped techniques, Ring, LV, and expressions are sure to make this a ringer – and audience! – favorite.
