Caleb has created an exciting original work that is strong on melody with engaging rhythms and expressions that will be amazing to play – and fabulously enjoyable for the audience – although they would be challenged to clap along, were they so moved!
Written in 4/4 time, the accents and syncopated lines in the treble melody are tricky and will be a bit of a challenge but the solidly accented accompaniment supports it beautifully. Malleted notes, marts, mart-lifts, shakes, and thumb damps are crafted to emphasize the rhythms. There are several nicely-written key changes, and the addition of a few calm, peaceful moments rung on handchimes segues beautifully back to the main theme as it rollicks forward to the dynamic ending. This title is definitely a 'must-have' for the more accomplished groups!
